The Great Glaswegian Sewing Bee

28 Oct

I have been promising many things for some time. the first was to arrange a sewing bee. Move over The Great British Sewing Bee and hello to the Scottish version! I have been saying I would organise something for 6 month or so and FINALLY I have sourced one starting the first Monday of every Month from 7-9 at the stunning iSew2 in Kirkintilloch Glasgow.

iSew2 is a gorgeous wee shop that only opened its doors on Saturday. It is owned by a fab past student of mine called Linda who has a passion for all things crafty(not just sewing!). She also has impeccable taste and has filled the shop with beautiful ribbons, buttons, fabrics, bias binding etc. There is too much to mention really you just have to go and have a look!

New Kirkintilloch Sewing/Craft Shop

Not only will we be having the sewing bee here but I will also be running a range of sewing classes, including some new ones!

Linda has 8 Elna 240s for rent on the evening of the sewing bee and tea and cake will be available. Machines will be available to book in advance on the website http://www.isew2.co.uk/ so you can guarantee yourself a machine. I reckon I will be going along and getting very little done, unless you count extreme gossiping as something productive? No? Oh well!

You can visit iSew2 at 117 Townhead Street in Kirkintilloch

Thank you Jenny for the lovely comments. I have such a response to the Monday sewing bee, that I am going to run it every Monday evening for the foreseeable future. Only three places left for Monday 2 Dec, so now taking names for the 9 Dec – I’ll keep you posted
